A bead finish is a uniform matte surface made of countless tiny indentations. Fine spherical media is propelled at the sheet under pressure; each bead leaves a small pit, and the pits overlap until no direction can be seen in the surface. The result diffuses light instead of reflecting it, hides fingerprints and minor handling marks, and gives a welded assembly one even texture where the joints would otherwise show.

What gets bead finished

  • Architectural cladding, column wraps and soffit panels that face daylight and cannot glare.
  • Lift interiors, door leaves and wall linings that are touched all day and have to hide it.
  • Kitchen, laboratory and hygienic equipment where a directional grain would trap dirt.
  • Base surfaces for PVD coating — bead finish plus PVD colour is one of the most requested combinations.

Why a bead finish

A brushed finish has a grain, and a grain has a direction: panels have to be laid the same way, joints between them are visible, and a scratch across the grain stands out. A bead finish has no direction. Panels can be oriented freely, cut-outs and returns match the face, and a repair can be blended locally. The texture is set by the media type, size and pressure, so a sample is agreed first and the batch is matched to it.

The same process cleans and roughens a surface before coating, which is why it sits so well before PVD.

From your panel to a finished surface

  1. Name the finish — a reference sample, a project code or a description — and we produce a matched swatch on your material.
  2. Confirm the material, thickness and sheet or part size; we advise on distortion and on which faces will be finished.
  3. Parts are blasted, inspected against the swatch under the same light, and cleaned.
  4. Finished faces are covered with protective film and packed — or carried on to PVD, cutting or bending in the same order.

الأسئلة الشائعة

01Is a bead finish the same as a sand-blasted finish?
No. Bead blasting uses round media that peens the surface into shallow dimples; sand or grit leaves a sharper, rougher texture. Bead finish is the softer, more uniform of the two and is the one specified for architectural stainless.
02Can you bead finish a welded assembly?
Yes — that is one of its main uses. Ground welds disappear into the uniform texture, so a fabricated enclosure or column wrap reads as one piece.
03Does the finish hide scratches in use?
Light marks and fingerprints are far less visible than on a polished or brushed surface. Deep scratches still show, but a local re-blast blends them back in without refinishing the whole panel.
04Can a bead finish be PVD-coated?
Yes. The bead texture takes PVD colour evenly and the combination is common on lift interiors, façades and door hardware. We agree the blast sample and the colour sample together.
05Which materials can be bead finished?
Stainless steel is the usual material. Aluminium and brass can also be bead finished; sheet thickness and part geometry are checked first because thin, unsupported sheet can distort under blasting.
