Fabrication is where the pieces become the thing. Laser-cut blanks, folded panels, cut tube and machined parts arrive on the bench as a kit; they leave as a frame, an enclosure, a balustrade, a counter, a cladding cassette or a piece of process equipment. We weld stainless steel, aluminium and carbon steel, with the process chosen for the material and the job: TIG where the weld will be seen or the material is thin, MIG for structural work, and low-heat-input methods for thin plate and heat-sensitive alloys where distortion is the enemy.

What gets fabricated

  • Architectural metalwork — balustrades and handrails, screens and cladding cassettes, canopies, signage frames and feature elements, made from parts cut in the same building.
  • Enclosures and housings — equipment enclosures, panels and guards in stainless or aluminium, welded and dressed.
  • Frames and structures — support frames, platforms, brackets and secondary steelwork for the fit-out and the plant.
  • Counters, kitchens and hygienic work — stainless steel surfaces and fabrications where the weld has to be ground flush and polished back to the finish.
  • Industrial assemblies — the fabrication side of vessels, tanks, skids and piping is delivered by Hidayath Heavy Industry, a group company, and described under industrial engineering.

Why fabrication under one roof

Most fabrication problems are hand-over problems: parts cut to one drawing and folded to another, a finish specified after the welds have been placed, a frame that arrives at the polisher with weld spatter in the corners. Keeping cutting, forming, welding and finishing in one facility means the welder knows how the part will be finished before striking an arc, the weld is placed where it can be dressed, and the assembly is checked for fit before it goes to the finishing line. It also means one drawing, one enquiry and one accountable party.

The other reason is the finish. On stainless steel the weld is only half the job; the dressing, blending and polishing that follow decide what the client sees. A brushed finish has to be re-grained through the weld in the direction of the original grain; a mirror finish has to be brought back to mirror across the joint; a PVD coating has to go on to a surface that is clean and uniform. All of that is done here by the people who will do the coating.

From drawing to assembly

  1. Send the drawing — the assembly, the material and the finish you expect on the visible faces.
  2. We confirm the build — material and section sizes, the weld method, where joints will fall and how they will be dressed, and anything on the drawing that would be better made another way.
  3. Cutting and forming — the parts are produced from the same file and checked before they reach the bench.
  4. Welding, dressing and finishing — the assembly is welded, the joints are dressed to the finish, and it is inspected before dispatch.

الأسئلة الشائعة

01Which materials do you weld?
Stainless steel, aluminium and carbon steel, with the process chosen for the material and the job — TIG, MIG and low-heat-input methods for thin or heat-sensitive material.
02Can the welds be invisible in the finished piece?
On visible faces the weld is ground, blended and re-finished to match the surrounding surface — re-grained on brushed finishes, brought back to mirror on polished ones. Say which faces are visible and we plan the joints accordingly.
03Do you fabricate from my cut parts, or from your own?
Either. Most work is cut, folded and welded in the same facility from one file; we also weld parts supplied to us when the drawing is clear.
04Can you fabricate and then PVD-coat the assembly?
Yes. Fabrication, polishing and PVD run in the same building, and the sequence is planned so the coating goes on to a clean, uniform surface.
05Do you handle pressure equipment and structural steel?
Those are quoted through Hidayath Heavy Industry, the group's industrial company, which works to approved drawings and named specifications with the documentation to match — see the industrial engineering pages.
