Flat sheet begins as coil. Our cut-to-length lines uncoil the strip, pass it through a leveller to take out the coil set and crossbow, and shear it into flat sheets at the exact length programmed. The sheets are stacked and strapped ready for the next process. Because the length is set by the program rather than by a mill's standard, a project can have sheet cut to the panel length it actually needs, with less offcut and fewer joints.
What gets cut to length
- Stainless steel sheet and plate for our own laser, punching, bending and finishing lines.
- Custom-length blanks for cladding, roofing, ducting and tank shells.
- Aluminium sheet in thin gauges for architectural and signage work.
- Heavy-gauge stainless steel for industrial fabrication cut from coil rather than bought as plate.
Why cut from coil
Coil is how the mills ship, and processing it ourselves gives control. Sheet length is not limited to a catalogue size, flatness comes from our own leveller rather than from how the pallet travelled, and a project's material can be cut in the order it will be used. Two lines cover the range: a thin line for light gauges where flatness and surface protection matter most, and a heavy line for thick stainless steel that would otherwise be bought as plate.
The cut sheets feed straight into the rest of the workshop, so one order can run from coil to a finished, coated panel.

From coil to flat sheet
- Tell us the material, thickness, width and the sheet length you need, with the quantity.
- We confirm the line and the coil, and agree surface protection — paper interleaving or film — for finished surfaces.
- The coil is uncoiled, levelled, sheared and stacked; sheets are checked for length, squareness and flatness.
- Stacks are strapped and delivered, or move on to laser cutting, punching or bending in the same order.
