A waterjet cuts with a hairline stream of water and abrasive at very high pressure. Nothing is heated, so there is no burnt edge, no distortion and no change to the material's structure — the cut edge is the same metal as the part. It cuts materials a laser struggles with: thick stainless and aluminium plate, brass and copper that reflect a beam, and non-metals such as stone, glass and composites. The same nozzle handles all of them from the same program.

What gets waterjet-cut

  • Thick stainless steel and aluminium plate for machine bases, flanges and structural parts.
  • Brass and copper components — decorative, electrical and architectural.
  • Inlays and medallions where metal is cut to fit stone, glass or timber cut from the same file.
  • Heat-sensitive parts, hardened materials and any part where a heat-affected zone is not acceptable.

Why cut cold

Laser and plasma cut with heat, and heat leaves a mark: a hardened edge, a heat tint, sometimes a warp. For most sheet work that does not matter. For a thick flange that will be machined, an aluminium part that must not soften, or a brass panel that will be polished to the edge, it does. The waterjet removes the question. Its edge is matte and uniform, its kerf is fine, and it cuts almost anything flat that can be clamped to the bed.

Where a job mixes metal and stone — a lobby floor medallion, a logo inlaid in marble — the waterjet cuts both halves from the same file so they fit.

From your file to a cut part

  1. Send the drawing — DXF or DWG preferred — with the material, thickness and quantity.
  2. We confirm whether waterjet, laser or plasma is the right process for the part and say why.
  3. Parts are nested, cut, rinsed and inspected; abrasive is cleaned from the surface.
  4. Parts continue to machining, bending, polishing or PVD in the same order, or are packed for delivery.

الأسئلة الشائعة

01When is waterjet better than laser?
For thick plate, for reflective metals such as brass and copper, for aluminium that must not be heat-affected, and for non-metals. For thin sheet in quantity, laser is faster and we say so.
02Which materials can be cut?
Stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper and carbon steel plate, and non-metals including stone, glass, rubber and composites. Thickness limits depend on the material and are confirmed on enquiry.
03What does the cut edge look like?
A uniform matte, sand-blasted texture with no heat tint or burr. On thick material the lower edge shows a slight taper or striation, which is controlled by cutting speed and can be minimised where the edge is visible.
04Can you cut stone or glass to match a metal part?
Yes. Both halves of an inlay are cut from the same file so they fit; this is how floor medallions and inlaid logos are made.
05Does the abrasive damage the surface of a polished sheet?
The cutting stream is confined to the kerf. Polished or PVD-coated sheet is cut face down or with protective film so the finished face is not marked.
