Hidayath started in 1976 trading metals. The trade taught the group the material itself — which grades survive which environments, which finishes hold, which suppliers can be trusted with a delivery date — and the business grew the way metal businesses should: downstream, into the work.

Today the group spans metal supply, precision processing, architectural products and industrial engineering. In Saudi Arabia, Hidayath Metal Industries (HMI) carries that work — stocked branches, modern processing lines and fabrication under one roof, serving contractors, consultants, fabricators and designers across the Kingdom.

Hidayath Group

Founded in Abu Dhabi. Built in metal.

The Hidayath Group was founded by Hidayathulla Abbas in 1976 as a hardware trading business in Abu Dhabi. It grew into stainless steel and allied metals — trading, processing, project supplies and manufacturing for the architectural and industrial sectors — and today works from twenty locations in six countries.

Hidayath Heavy Industry (HHI) is the group’s process-equipment arm, fabricating industrial metal for upstream and downstream sectors. Hidayath Metal Industries (HMI) is the group in Saudi Arabia.

History

Milestones, as they happened.

  1. 1976We commenced our voyage as a modest establishment, trading in hardware products in Abu Dhabi.
  2. 1980We made our foray into steel and other allied metal products, particularly stainless steel flat and long products.
  3. 1996We established the first stainless steel service and surface processing plant in the GCC, within an area of 6,000 sqm.
  4. 2003We set up the largest waterjet cutting facility in the GCC.
  5. 2005We established the first investment casting plant in the GCC.
  6. 2006We set up the first stainless steel tube mill in the United Arab Emirates.
  7. 2007We installed the first titanium coating (PVD) plant for stainless steel in the United Arab Emirates.
  8. 2008We set up the first coil-to-coil perforation machine in the GCC.
  9. 2009We established the first hot rolled stainless steel cut-to-length line in the GCC.
  10. 2010We diversified into the manufacture of process equipment for industrial applications across many upstream and downstream sectors.
  11. 2011We established a service centre in India, catering to our customers’ needs across the subcontinent.
  12. 2012We established a stocking facility in Qatar to serve the Qatar market.
  13. 2014We opened a stock point in Saudi Arabia to serve customers locally.
  14. 2015We started our stocking facility in Oman for the Sultanate.
  15. 2017We opened our state-of-the-art corporate headquarters in Dubai Industrial Park, encompassing a total area of 2.4 million square feet.
  16. 2018Hidayath introduced the first ASTM A312 pipe manufacturing machine in stainless steel, going up to 8″.
  17. 2019We commenced the design, manufacture and fabrication of elevator cabins and escalator cladding.
  18. 2020We started our service centre in KSA to serve the local market more efficiently.

Chairman’s Message

A voyage begun in the 1970s.

Hidayathulla Abbas began his humble voyage in the 1970s. He transitioned from trading in hardware to stainless steel material supplies and gradually gained sustainable momentum in becoming the market leader in trading, processing, project supplies, manufacturing and services of architectural and industrial products and solutions in stainless steel and allied metals.

Under his leadership as the founding Chairman of the Hidayath Group, the group went from strength to strength, and in just four decades it became one of the most recognised companies in the stainless steel industry globally. The pragmatic and organic growth of the group is a tribute to his vision, leadership, hard work, commitment, risk-taking appetite and dedication.

His focus and understanding always align with the group’s underlying objectives. With continuous technological advancement, strategic acquisitions and well-planned forays into new markets, concrete inroads are always made into the architectural and industrial sectors.

    Joined the group in 2010 to take it beyond architectural steel into industrial metal fabrication. A mechanical engineering and business-management graduate, he built Hidayath Heavy Industry into an industrial fabricator delivering complex projects across sectors.

Sustainability

A material that comes back.

Metal is one of the few building materials that recycles without degrading — stainless steel and aluminium re-enter the supply chain as themselves, not as a lesser product. Working in metal is a long-life, low-waste choice by nature of the material.

Our contribution is practical: cutting programs nested to reduce offcut, offcuts segregated and returned to recycling streams, and durable finishes that extend service life instead of shortening replacement cycles. We state these as practices — measured environmental figures will be published only when audited numbers exist.
