Oxy colour stainless steel

Most coloured stainless steel holds one tone. Oxy does not. The group describes the series as a spectrum of shades that shift as you walk past, produced by surface treatment together with reflective elements in the finish. The practical result is that the panel reads differently from each end of a corridor, and a large wall in Oxy has movement across it without any pattern being applied.

Four finishes are shown in the series, each named after the tone it settles on when viewed face-on:

• Ember Oxy, an orange to amber shift
• Fuchsia Oxy, pink moving towards cream at the edges
• Nebula Oxy, deep blue shading into purple
• Bronzite Oxy, a fine speckled sand tone with far less shift than the other three

Because the colour depends on angle, specify Oxy from a physical sample seen in the actual light of the space, not from a screen. Photographs flatten the effect and printed swatches cannot show it at all. Where several sheets meet on one wall, ask for panels from the same production batch and keep the grain or reflective direction consistent, otherwise adjacent panels will sit at different points of the colour band. The base is stainless steel, so the sheet's corrosion behaviour is that of its grade; the group's page does not state which grades the series is produced on, nor whether it is rated for exterior use, so confirm both for a facade.

Clean with warm water, a mild neutral detergent and a soft cloth, then rinse and dry to stop water spots forming on the reflective surface. Do not use bleach, chloride cleaners, acidic descalers or abrasive pads: the effect lives in the surface layer and anything that scours it will leave a dull patch that no longer shifts.

Riyadh dust dulls a reflective wall quickly; a dry microfibre pass between washes keeps it reading as intended. If the panels are used outside, treat them as you would any stainless exterior and specify 316 near the coast.
