A design masked onto the sheet and chemically etched, leaving the pattern as a matte figure on a polished ground or the reverse. Standard geometric and floral patterns are held; custom artwork can be etched from a vector file.
Etched sheet is often combined with a PVD colour, so the pattern shows in two tones of one metal.
