Coil-to-coil punching turns a plain coil into a perforated one. The strip is fed from a decoiler through a CNC punch press, the hole pattern is punched continuously as the strip advances, and the perforated material is re-wound on the other side. Nothing is handled as individual sheets, so very long runs of perforated strip — for ceilings, filters, screens and profiles — are produced at a steady rate with the pattern registered along the whole length.
What gets punched from coil
- Perforated strip for roll-formed ceiling panels, baffles and acoustic linings.
- Screen and filter material in galvanised and aluminium for HVAC and industrial use.
- Thin stainless steel perforated strip for architectural and hygienic applications.
- Feedstock for our own cut-to-length and bending lines when a project needs perforated sheet in quantity.
Why punch coil rather than sheets
Sheet-to-sheet punching loads, clamps and unloads one sheet at a time. Coil-to-coil punching does none of that; the material moves continuously and the press runs at its own pace. For a long perforated run the difference is large, and the pattern is continuous along the strip rather than restarting at every sheet edge. The perforated coil can then be cut to length here, roll-formed by you, or delivered as coil.
The line handles the thin gauges that perforated ceilings, screens and filters are made from; heavier perforated plate goes to the sheet-to-sheet punch or the laser.

From your pattern to perforated coil
- Send the hole pattern — size, pitch, arrangement and margin — and the strip width, material and quantity.
- We confirm the tooling, the material and whether the run is delivered as coil or cut to length.
- The coil is punched continuously and re-wound; pattern registration and hole quality are checked along the run.
- Perforated coil is strapped and delivered, or cut to length and passed on to bending or finishing in the same order.
